A Plague of Shadows by Travis Simmons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I normally don't read too many fantasy style books, but this one was worth it! It was a slow start, but that was necessary since there were so many concepts and details to set up this story. Travis Simmon is a very entertaining author and really captivated me and my imagination. This is a safe read for the younger reader, but just as fun for us adults. Once you get going in the story, you will not be able to put it down, and will crave the next episode within The Harbingers of Light series!
The story of Abagail Bauer's journey to find out what is going on with these Darklings, and how to solve her dilemma with contraction of the Shadow Plague, is really heart breaking and nerve racking. However, she is not alone in her journey, her companions consists of her younger sister Leona and her neighbor Rorick Keuper. Both are sworn to protect Abagail, but have also made it clear that they will do anything that will save the Nine Worlds, even if that means to destroy Abagail. Watch as Abagail is sent from her home world of O, to Agarath where the darklings rule. Abagail puts all her hope in finding her estranged aunt, but will she find her aunt in Agarath or just more heart ache?
